Newburgh for Newcomers 2005

The 4th annual Newburgh for Newcomers took place on June 12, 2005, at the Elks Club, located at 155 Liberty Street in Newburgh. Registration is now closed, to say nothing of the actual event.

  • In the morning were informational workshops.
  • Outside under tent the 2nd annual Home Show took place.
  • In the afternoon, brokers offered Open Houses for viewing, and Bus Tours took visitors to the neighborhoods of Newburgh.
  • The Closing Reception at the Yellow Bird gallery was very nice.

After an opening general session, participants selected among four panels of recent newcomers, who shared their experiences as investors, homeowners, artists, and business owners.
The homeowners panel included recent newcomers (left to right): advertising executive Tanya Salas-Humara, artist-publisher Victor Mirabelli, mortgage broker Judy Johnson, art critic Jan Avgikos, and artist-business owner Marge Bell.

This year's reception was held at Richard Polich's new Yellow Bird Gallery on Front Street. Guests were treated to a sneak preview of the upscale loft condos nearing completion in the building.
