The 2003 "Newburgh for Newcomers" took place on Saturday, June 7, at the Cornerstone Residence (former Hotel Newburgh) on Broadway.

Tricia Haggerty Wenz, Executive Director, Safe Harbors of the Hudson Inc.
William Ketcham, City Manager, City of Newburgh
Mary McTamaney, City Historian/Newburgh Presevation Association
John Lease III, John J. Lease Realtors
Peter King, Ulster Savings Bank/Newburgh Architectural Review Commission
Steve Ruelke, City of Newburgh Assessor
Sandy Cotthaus, First Independent Realty
Garnet Armstrong, HSBC Bank
Karen Mallam, Newburgh Community Improvement Corporation
Robert McKenna, City of Newburgh Office of Economic Development
Gerry Sanchez, Newburgh Development Association
In the afternoon, participants took bus tours of Newburgh and visited "open houses" of residential properties for sale. Many connections were made, and at least one "deal" was struck for the purchase of a property.
The day ended with a reception at the loft home of Geoff and Danyelle Brackett, who bought the building at 12 Front Street in 2001. The top floor is their home; the other three floors have been leased for retail and office use.
